NEW PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS BEGIN WITH ER EXPRESS CARE |
BOTH GREW UP IN SMALL COMMUNITIES |
| |
Andrea Tardivo and Aaran Hoejke recently started as Physician Assistants (PA’s) for the emergency department’s Express Care program. Aaron and Andrea both graduated from the University of Toledo with a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, Physician Assistant Studies.
The PA profession was originally started to expand and broaden access to health care, especially in rural healthcare settings. Andrea and Aaron both grew up in small rural communities that they liken to Waynesburg.
“Growing up, in Apollo, PA, I saw first hand the limited access to healthcare,” shared Andrea. “SRMC was exactly what I was looking for; an opportunity to bridge the gap of access to health care. At SRMC, I am able to combine my passion of emergency medicine with primary care all while being dedicated to serving a small rural population.”
Andrea enjoys fishing, hiking, hunting, cooking and sports.
Aaron shares, "So far I've had a great experience here at Southwest Regional. I think a lot of the credit for that has to go to the staff. From top to bottom the people that work here are friendly and caring, both to newcomers like myself, as well as their patients. Here, you can tell that the patient's care always comes first.”
He enjoys golf, exercise, sports, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and reading.
Andrea and Aaron are currently living in Mather, PA.
